Medlock has made a name for itself as a contractor of choice for market hall projects and our latest efforts at the exciting New Chester Market only cement that reputation further.

The brainchild of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Chester Northgate is a long-awaited new development sporting retail spaces, entertainment complexes, office units and new bars and restaurants. One of the jewels of this exciting leisure hotspot is the newly completed New Chester Market

The design Medlock was tasked with delivering outlined a vibrant and welcoming venue with inspiration taken from famous markets around the world. The market was developed on the back of public consultations to establish what kind of venue the people of Chester wanted to see. It’s based on this guidance that we delivered a modern, traditional market that’s welcoming for both the local community and visitors alike.

As part of the project, we delivered 39 timber stalls for traders, a performance stage, and a 400-cover communal dining and seating areas for members of the public to enjoy the amenities on offer.

The New Chester Market is not just a great new market hall concept, but an extremely valuable community asset. It was a privilege to be part of this long-planned project and we look forward to seeing its success long into the future.
