The Bleeding Wolf, Cheshire
Client: Frederic Robinson Ltd
Architect: Alison Pike
Duration: 12 weeks
Value: £400,000
Medlock has completed the fit-out and refurbishment of The Bleeding Wolf, a beautiful, Grade II listed pub located in picturesque rural Cheshire.
Our client, Robinson’s brewery, are renowned for their delicious beers and their range of cosy English pubs. They tasked us with giving the pub a fresh look while preserving the venue’s unique style.
The Bleeding Wolf was a special project for Medlock. It was important to both us and our client to keep the history of the venue alive while still making the necessary improvements. Striking that balance was a delicate task but with our characteristic passion and commitment, we delivered a great result.
The finished product retains much of what makes the grade II listed building distinctive. The thatched roof, stained glass windows and decorative walls have been preserved, while the interior has been completely transformed to reflect Robinsons reputation for charm and comfort.
Through the clever positioning of contemporary furniture mixed with traditional pieces, the venue’s interior communicates all the warmth and character expected of a Robinsons pub. Alongside the work to the internal trading space, we also built an extension to the entrance and a new outdoor drinking and dining area.
When restrictions allow, we look forward to the public being able to enjoy a drink at this beautifully unique pub.
